Resin-bound gravel gives you a smooth, seamless finish with none of the loose stones or weeds you get with traditional gravel. Laid properly, it's one of the best surfaces for a coastal climate: it's permeable, so water drains straight through rather than pooling, and a UV-stable resin won't fade or go patchy in the sun. The difference is all in the preparation. We never lay resin onto a tired old base and hope for the best. We assess what's underneath, put down the right sub-base for the ground conditions, and only then lay the resin, which is why ours don't crack or lift a couple of winters later.

Not if it's the right product. We use UV-stable resin and natural aggregates, which hold their colour in strong sun and sea air. Cheaper non-UV resins are the ones that yellow and go patchy, and we don't use them.
